I found this in an old The Best of Postal Recipes, 1983. I've made it a couple of times with good results.

Ingredients

16 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 package french vanilla instant pudding (5.1 oz)
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 package slivered almonds (4 oz)
1 can fruit cocktail, drained (15 oz)

How To Make fancy cheese ball

Step 1

Mix cream cheese, pudding mix, and orange juice in bowl. After it's mixed, add fruit cocktail and mix well.

Step 2

Roll into ball. Wrap in plastic wrap. Let harden in refrigerator for no less than 4 hours.
Step 3

Remove plastic wrap, roll in slivered almonds, and serve.
