Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry white wine
  • 1 pound swiss chees, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons cherry brandy or dry white wine
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 dash each white pepper, paprika, and ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 - loaf french bread, cut into 1 inch cubes

How To Make classic swiss fondue

  • Step 1
    Bring wine to a boil. Place cheese, brandy, flour, garlic and seasonings in blender or food processor. Add wine. Cover and process until smooth. Transfer to a fondue pot. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is hot and bubbly. Add baking soda; mix well. Keep fondue at a gentle simmer over low heat. Serve with bread.
