Found these in a cookbook from my Grandmother-in-Law's Church. The original version was relatively bland and kinda boring, so I made some adjustments and tweaked a few ingredients and these are what ended up being voted the winner!

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3/4 pound grated cheddar cheese (or shredded cheddar)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
  • 2 cups rice krispies
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits
  • TOPPING
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese

How To Make cheesy krisps

  • Step 1
FOR TOPPING: In small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon garlic powder and Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
  • Step 2
FOR KRISPS: Preheat oven to 350. Mix butter and cheese with hands. Work in the flour and remaining spices. Fold in cereal, using large flat spoon.
  • Step 3
Shape into little balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Flatten slightly with a fork (like peanut butter cookies), and place on baking sheet.
  • Step 4
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until crispy. Sprinkle with garlic-Parmesan mixture while warm. Store in a tin with a tight seal.
