Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by David Schomp

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 pound velveeta cheese
  • 1 pound cheddar cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • - chili powder

How To Make cheese log roll

  • Step 1
    Grate cheddar and Velveeta cheeses; add cream cheese and mix well.
  • Step 2
    Add finely minced garlic and pecans. Mix well.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle chili powder on plastic wrap or wax paper (do NOT use aluminum foil). Roll cheese into logs and wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Step 4
    Refrigerate for several days before serving.
