Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by David Schomp

  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 lb
    velveeta cheese
  • 1 lb
    cheddar cheese
  • 4 clove
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • ·
    chili powder

How to Make Cheese Log Roll


  1. Grate cheddar and Velveeta cheeses; add cream cheese and mix well.
  2. Add finely minced garlic and pecans. Mix well.
  3. Sprinkle chili powder on plastic wrap or wax paper (do NOT use aluminum foil). Roll cheese into logs and wrap in plastic wrap.
  4. Refrigerate for several days before serving.
