This is one recipe you have just got to try...bursting with great flavor...the onion spread and bacon make the bread... Try it and you be the judge. In my families words this was "A Big Tested and Approved"...Yummo! Quick and easy is also a plus! My photos

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf - french bread
  • 10 - 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 - 1 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 package lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound thick sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 - 1 cups green or red bell pepper ( i used closer to 1 cup )
  • 1/2 - 1 cups onion, chopped ( i used close to 1 cup )
  • few pinch parsley flakes
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons butter, softened

How To Make cassies best loaded french bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 300 degree F. Cut the loaf of French bread lengthwise. Butter bread lightly.
  • Step 2
    Mix cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, onion soup mix and mayonnaise, with an electric mixer, until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Spread onto the loaf of bread thickly. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
  • Step 4
    Next, the peppers and onions.
  • Step 5
    Top evenly with the sliced cheese. Sprinkle with parsley flakes.
  • Step 6
    Bake 40 - 45 minutes or until bread is crunchy and cheese is bubbly. I added some hot pepper flakes to mine...yum!
