brie plus 3 yummy spread

I went to a party a couple of years ago and our hostess served this recipe on french bread slices. It was absolutely wonderful. It's been a while since I made it so I don't have a picture, but I promise you will love it....I owe this recipe to my friend Jennifer.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups pears (large) cut into chunks
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons captain morgan's light rum (you can use rum extract if you like)
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, diced, and rind removed
  • 1 - loaf of french bread, slced and toasted
  • - if you like it a little sweeter, add two tsp. of sugar while pears are cooking

How To Make brie plus 3 yummy spread

  • Step 1
    Pare pears and cut into chunks. Place in a medium skillet. Add the butter and bring to a boil..Add the rum and cover on simmer until pears are tender. Remove lid and increase heat, watching carefully to make sure it doesn't scorch. If you have a lot of liquid, you may wont to cook it down some.
  • Step 2
    Remove from heat. Slice the Brie on top and put under broiler until cheese melts. Serve on french bread slices or crackers
