A quick and easy take-along to any gathering! The prep time includes slicing the baguette and toasting the slices while the oven heats up and you start the topping. The bake time is simply waiting for the Brie to get a little melty in the oven. See, quick and easy! =^..^= This recipe can also be made with an 8 oz. block of cream cheese, if you prefer. Just heat for a few minutes in the microwave, until warm and slightly melted. Top with the glaze as directed.

Ingredients

  • some toasted baguette slices, crackers, apple slices, sliced strawberries, pear slices
  • 1/2 cup pecan or walnut pieces
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • pinch coarse sea salt
  • 8 ounces Brie wheel, rind on

How To Make baked brie with maple nut glaze

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Quickly cut 1/2 of the baguette into thin slices, place slices on a baking sheet, and put into the preheating oven to toast. Set a timer to flip in 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
In a small saucepan, add the nuts and “toast” over low heat, stirring often, for about 5 minutes. Add the maple syrup and a pinch of sea salt to the nuts. Turn the heat as low as you can and just heat up the contents, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3
Put the Brie wheel* into a small oven-safe baking dish. (I’ve also seen Brie served in a small cast iron skillet.) Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and put the Brie dish in. Bake for about 13 minutes, or until the Brie is melty. *I leave the rind on the Brie, but you do as you like. The rind is edible.
  • Topping the baked Brie.
    Step 4
Remove the melty Brie from the oven and put it in a fancy dish, if desired. Pour the hot maple syrup and nuts mixture over the Brie. Serve with the toasted baguette slices, crackers, fruit slices, or other dippers. NOTE: If the Brie cools off too much, microwave for 30 seconds or slightly more until it is melty again.
