How to Make Arepas de queso
- 1Bring to boil in a small saucepan over low heat the milk. Remove from heat and add the butter
- 2In large bowl combine the cornmeal(flour), sugar, salt, and cheese. (when using flour start with 11/2 cups and go up from there. usually takes about 2 1/2 in the end.
Add the hot milk/butter mixture and let stand. cheese should melt. 1-2 minutes for soft dough to form.
- 3Form into 12 balls and flatten with palms into patties.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil on griddle or skillet over medium high heat.
Cook arepas til cooked through and slightly brown 6-8 minutes on each side.
