Ingredients For a little hanky panky

  • 1 lb
    bulk hot pork sausage
  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 lb
    velveeta cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    basil, dried or 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder with parsley
  • 1 lb
    mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1 lb
    loaf cocktail rye bread

How To Make a little hanky panky

    Saute sausage and beef in a large frying pan. Drain in a colander and blot with paper towel to absorb as much grease as possible.

    Combine sausage mixture and Velveeta cheese and cook until cheese is melted. Add Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic powder and blend well.

    Spread mixture on cocktail rye and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top. Bake at 350-degrees for 10 minutes.

    Hanky Pankies may be made ahead and frozen. Bake for 12 minutes if frozen.
