My family loves olives, especially stuffed. Whenever I go to the Specialty Store, the stuffed olives are so expensive. Sometimes as much as $10 a container. So I decided to make them myself. Here is what I did. My sister told me her girlfriend actually went one step further and pan fried the olives. So I tried that. They were a hit! Ingredients

  • 24 - pitted green olives (i used 2- 6 1/2 oz. jars of queen sized olives)
  • 2 ounces blue cheese, feta cheese, fresh garlic cloves (your choice) i used all three
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 cups vegetable oil

How To Make pan fried stuffed green olives

  • soaking olives in water
    Step 1
    Soak olives in cold water for 15 minutes to reduce saltiness. Drain and pat dry.
  • stuffing olives
    Step 2
    Stuff olives with your choice of cheese or garlic cloves.
  • Step 3
    Put flour, egg, breadcrumbs in 3 bowls. Dredge stuffed olives in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  • pan frying olives
    Step 4
    Heat oil in saucepan. Fry olives until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes. Drain on paper towels, and serve warm. Yummy!
