My family loves olives, especially stuffed. Whenever I go to the Specialty Store, the stuffed olives are so expensive. Sometimes as much as $10 a container.
So I decided to make them myself. Here is what I did. My sister told me her girlfriend actually went one step further and pan fried the olives. So I tried that. They were a hit!
I hope you give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

Ingredients

pitted green olives (i used 2- 6 1/2 oz. jars of queen sized olives)
2 oz
blue cheese, feta cheese, fresh garlic cloves (your choice) i used all three
3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1 large
egg, lightly beaten
1/2 c
bread crumbs
2 c
vegetable oil

How to Make Pan Fried Stuffed Green Olives

Step-by-Step

  • 1Soak olives in cold water for 15 minutes to reduce saltiness. Drain and pat dry.
  • 2Stuff olives with your choice of cheese or garlic cloves.
  • 3Put flour, egg, breadcrumbs in 3 bowls. Dredge stuffed olives in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  • 4Heat oil in saucepan. Fry olives until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes. Drain on paper towels, and serve warm.
