world class calamari rings

These will be the best mouth watering calamari rings if you do them right and take your time you can even eat them cold after cooked and they still won't be chewy I've Neva herd of anyone else doing it like this but this was a recipe that i helped get right and by sheer chance it worked and made a fish and chip shop here one of the best know because of the calamari so i hope you guys get it right because i know you will love them
my favorite things to have on it is just lemon nothing else or a Lil salt

Deep Fry


10 tube(s)
squid, cleaned and sliced
kiwi fruit
10 clove
2 to 3 c
plain flower
1 cup
egg wash
2 to 3 c
bread crumbs, dry


1Take the thin layer if cinu off the squid this is a delicate procedure and time consuming when squid is just over half thawed is the best time to do this

then once that is finished cut tubes all little finger nail thickness in to a ring shape
2Cut kiwi fruit in half and squash into a big bowl
3Cut garlic into fine cubes
and add to bowl
4Put all calamari rings in and keep mixing it make sure you really mix it up well I'd usually spend 10 to 15 mins doing this
5Make sure you leave this for at least 8 hours i like leaving it 24 hours so then flavor really works
6After your time has been just leave calamari rings in bowl and wash at all kiwi fruit and garlic off the rings
7Then this is important
do max 6 rings a time
and flour the rings
8I'm guessing we all know what egg wash is if not easy (3 eggs Lil milk stir done )
so we want to put our 6 rings into the egg wash
9Then into the crumb of your choice I like coconut and Chilli but most people like bread crumbs or do both if you like
10Then deep fry till crumb just starts changing colour i usually do it for like 15 to 20 second s max
