3 small
skinless flounder fillets. i used sole, you can use any thin fish of your choosing
1/4 tsp
ground ginger
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp
fresh cilantro chopped you can use any fresh herb of your choosing.
2 Tbsp
shallots chopped
1 clove
garlic minced
2 Tbsp
dry white wine
2 Tbsp
2 Tbsp
heavy cream
2 Tbsp
unsalted butter cold cut into 4 pieces
2 tsp
fresh chives minced
1 Tbsp
lemon juice

How to Make Flounder Fillet Roll Ups Appetizer


  • 1Lay Fish on cutting board and cut each fillet in half lengthwise making 6 strips. Season with ginger powder, salt and pepper. Top with cilantro. Roll into a coil and secure with a toothpick. Set aside
  • 2In a small saucepan combine the shallots, garlic,lemon juice, wine and water. Bring to a boil. Arrange fish in pan standing on end and fitting snuggly. Lower heat and simmer covered and poach fillet until cooked through. Remove from pan and keep warm.
  • 3In same pan increase heat to high and reduce liquid to 2 tablespoons. Add Cream and cook 30 seconds. Reduce heat to low and whisk in butter 1 slice at a time. Add chives and serve over fish
