easy onionettes
This recipe is from a cookbook my son gave me called Naomi's Home Companion. (Naomi Judd) I served them as of one the tea sandwiches at a tea party. Everyone liked them.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 4 cups wheat bread, crusts removed
- - very thin slices vidalia or other sweet onion
How To Make easy onionettes

Step 1Preheat the broiler

Step 2In a small bowl, mix together the cheese and mayonnaise. Spread evenly on the bread slices. Cut each into 4 equal squares. Place a onion slice on each square.

Step 3Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat until browned, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately.

Step 4Makes 16 small opened faced sandwiches. These can be cut smaller for bite size. I count 2 sandwiches for a serving.
