bread & butter pickles
Here is another one of my Mom's recipes that I thought was lost forever. I loved when my mom and grandmother would make pickles.

Ingredients
- 2 quarts sliced cucumbers
- 1 1/2 cups sliced onions
- 2 cups vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 3 1/2 teaspoons mustard seed
How To Make bread & butter pickles

Step 1Place sliced cucumbers and onions in dish and cover with ice cubes and 1 quart water. Let stand in refrigerator for 3 hours to make sure they are crisp.

Step 2Mix vinegar, tumeric, celery seed and mustard seed together and bring to a boil.

Step 3Take cucumbers and onions out of water and simmer in vinegar mixture for 10 minutes.

Step 4Place in jars and cover with liquid.

Step 5Seal jars. Always refrigerate before eating.
