I got this recipe from a co-worker years ago, in the mid-1980s. She brought this to a department-wide Christmas potluck party, and I begged her for the recipe. It's so good! It's one that we make for most of our family parties, and it's always a hit, even after all these years. People have told me they make a similar recipe using grape jelly (in place of the 1 cup BBQ sauce). That sounds like an interesting version. But I've just always made it using this recipe, and everyone seems to love it.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 100
    little smokies (mini cocktail franks)
  • 1 c
    barbecue sauce (i like jack daniels honey smokehouse)
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2
    onion, minced
  • 1 dash(es)
    tabasco or hot sauce (optional)

How to Make Barbecued Little Smokies

Step-by-Step

  1. Place all ingredients in a large crock pot/slow cooker. Cover crock pot, and cook on High heat for 2 to 4 hours, or until sausages are heated through.
  2. The warmed crock pot can be placed on the buffet table for 2 to 3 hours before requiring additional heating.
