1 6 tablespoons butter, salted or unsalted
1 2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 2 to 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional
1 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 2 large eggs
1 2 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
1 coarse white sparkling sugar, for sprinkling on top, optional
