4 large or 8 small German sausages, about 1 lb. total
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 tsp. caraway seeds
1/2 small head red cabbage, cored and shredded
1 cup amber ale
2 Tbs. malt vinegar
2 Tbs. chopped fresh dill (optional)
