lasagana (no boil)

This is our favorite lasagna recipe! Even Jonathan likes it a lot.. Serve with garlic bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 1 quart spaghetti sauce
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup water
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 dash nutmeg
  • to taste - salt and pepper
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (for topping)

How To Make lasagana (no boil)

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef, drain fat.
  • Step 2
    Add spaghetti sauce and water, bring to a boil
  • Step 3
    In large bowl mix together ricotta, egg, mozzarella, water, parmesan, parsley flakes, nutmeg, salt & pepper.
  • Step 4
    To assemble, use lasagna strips uncooked but rinsed under hot water before layering in a 9x13 pan. (Approximately 4 strips will fit a single layer, 3 lengthwise and 1 cross wise)
  • Step 5
    Layer as follows: a. 1 2/3 cup hot sauce b. Lasagna strips c. 1/2 of cheese mixture d. 1 2/3 cup hot sauce e. Lasagna strips f. Rest of cheese mixture g. 1 2/3 cup hot sauce h. Lasagna strips Rest of hot sauce
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 covered with foil for 40 min
  • Step 7
    Remove foil, top with shredded mozzarella, bake for 15 min
  • Step 8
    Important: let stand for 5-10 min before cutting.
