Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • FILLING INGREDIENTS
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)

How To Make chocolate revel bars

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Mix together the flour, sugar, butter and salt, as you would for pie crumbs. (Reserve some of the crumbs for topping) Add the eggs, vanilla, soda and oatmeal and mix the dough until it is smooth. Spread it 2/3 inch thick in a baking pan. Top it with the filling.
  • Step 3
    For the Filling: Melt together in a double boiler the chocolate chips, milk, butter, salt and nuts, if desired. Spread this over the dough, top it with the reserved crumbs and bake it for 25-30 minutes.
