I just love recipes that use Bisquick. It's so quick and easy and so good! This cake actually came from a cookbook from the 1930s. 09-22-2017

Ingredients

  • 2 cups original bisquick
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium red apple, unpeeled, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

How To Make easy apple cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400ºF and spray a 9-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In a medium sized bowl, combine Bisquick, 2 Tbsp. sugar, the milk, 2 Tbsp. butter and the egg until well blended. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Step 3
    Arrange the apple slices in three rows, overlapping slightly, on top of batter.
  • Step 4
    Brush 1/4 cup melted butter over tops of apple slices. In a small bowl, mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and the cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 400º for 16 to 18 minutes, until edges are golden brown. Cool 15 minutes before serving Cut into 9 squares.
