Ingredients
- FOR THE KLOPS (MEATBALLS)
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 2 slices bread, soaked in water, then squeezed dry
- 3 eggs
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- FOR THE CASSEROLE
- 2 quarts potatoes, cut into chunks and boiled
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup strained water from cooking meatballs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup milk, cold
- 4 tablespoons flour
- salt and pepper to taste

Step 1For the meatballs: Mix the ingredients together and form the mixture into balls about 2 inches in diameter. Place them in a pan of 1 1/2 quarts of boiling water. Cook them for 10 minutes, then place the balls in a roaster or casserole with the 2 quarts of boiled potatoes. Melt the butter and then add the

Step 2Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3For the Sauce: Melt the butter in a pan and add the flour. Gradually add the strained water, sour cream and milk, stirring constantly for a smooth and thickened sauce. Add salt and pepper, taste it and adjust if needed. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and potatoes in the casserole dish and bake it, at 350 degrees, for 45 minutes.
