A recipe from Alisanne Colkitt. This pulled pork turns out delicious!

method Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients For pulled pork

  • pork shoulder butt
  • brown sugar
  • pork rub
  • salt and pepper
  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • barbecue sauce
  • soda pop
  • minced garlic

How To Make pulled pork

  • 1
Season pork with brown sugar, pork rub, salt and pepper. Cover pork about half way with a mixture of ketchup, mustard, barbecue, minced garlic and soda pop.
  • 2
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. Occasionally open and spoon some of the liquid on top.of the pork. I usually do it every hour if I'm at home. If not, it's not a big deal. I also usually flip it half way through.
  • 3
Remove pork when tender. The way to tell is stick a fork into it and if the pork pulls off, it is usually done. It takes about 6 to 8 hours depending on size. Take the liquid and strain it through the strainer. Use the liquid as sauce. Shred the pork.
