cream pies
These are actually my Mom's recipes(accept she used to use the scratch pudding). I also remember that my Grandma Lillie used to make it, too. The coconut cream pie is Dad's favorite.

How To Make cream pies
-
Step 1Dock the pie shell with a fork or docking wheel. For a purchased pie shell, bake according to directions. If you made one from scratch, just follow the directions for baking time.
-
Step 2Banana Cream Pie: In the cooled pie shell, put 1/2 of the pudding(make sure the pudding is cool otherwise it will cook the bananas), the bananas (sliced) and the other half of the pudding. Top with meringue (make sure you put the meringue all the way to the edges of the pie shell) and bake at 375 until meringue in lightly browned. 15-20 minutes
-
Step 3Coconut Cream Pie: Add the coconut flavoring and 3/4 cup of coconut to the pudding while warm. (You do not have to let the pudding cool for this pie.) Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue, spreading it to the very edges of the pie crust. Sprinkle some extra coconut on top and bake 375 until meringue is lightly browned.
