This is a new recipe that I found and revised to our liking. I hope that you all enjoy it as much as we do. This goes great with a nice salad and crusty garlic bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups penne pasta, uncooked
  • 3 slices prosciutto, thin
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons parsley
  • 1/2 cup ramono, parmesan and asiago cheeses, shredded
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1 dash nutmeg

How To Make prosciutto pasta

  • Step 1
Start water for the pasta, make sure the water you cook the pasta in has enough salt to make it taste like sea water(this is something I have learned) Also, thaw and cut the florets into smaller pieces, steam until they are warm not hot.
  • Step 2
In a large saute' pan add a little olive oil and the prosciutto. Cook at medium heat until it is crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • Step 3
The water should be boiling by now, add the pasta to the water and cook according to directions on the package.
  • Step 4
Add the cream, cheeses, pepper, parsley, and nutmeg to the pan that the prosciutto was cooked in. Stir until the cheeses melt and sauce comes together on a low to medium heat. Crumble the prosciutto. By this time, the pasta should be about done, drain. Add the pasta, broccoli (heat the broccoli a little more in the microwave), and the prosciutto to the pan, stir together and serve.
