A sweet and creamy southern style of Waldorf Salad

Ingredients

  • 6 medium red & yellow delicious apples, diced
  • 8 oz cans pineapple tidbits, drained-blot dry
  • 2 cups seedless red or green grapes, cut in half
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • DRESSING
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 8 oz - whipped topping

How To Make dixieland waldorf fruit salad

  • Step 1
    Mix sugar, flour, cream, butter, and pineapple juice.
  • Step 2
    Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    Fold in whipped topping
  • Step 4
    Cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  • Step 5
    Chop Grapes and blot dry.
  • Step 6
    Chop Apples
  • Step 7
    Mix in apples, grapes, & pineapple tidbits.
  • Step 8
    Add walnuts just before serving to avoid turning fruit dark.
