ginger snaps

I found this recipe in an old cookbook that I had. This is one of Dad's and Grandpa Burgess' favorite cookie.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar in a bowl

How To Make ginger snaps

  • Step 1
    In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and the sugar until fluffy. Add the other ingredients given, in order, (accept the bowl of sugar). Mix.
  • Step 2
    I usually use a cookie scoop and divide the scoop of dough in half, roll the dough in a ball, roll in the bowl of sugar. Place the cookie on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
