Toffee Chocolate Chip Scones . . . and possibly the most rich and decadent scones you will ever taste! If you can't find real toffee chips just buy a Heath bar and grab a hammer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter- frozen or very cold
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (dark chocolate is my favorite)
  • 1/2 cup real toffee bits (not flavored baking chips)
  • 1 cup cream (don’t skimp or dough is dry)
  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar for tops (optional)
  • chocolate drizzle (optional)

How To Make toffee chocolate chip scones

  • Step 1
Whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Grate the butter in. (You want it very cold!) Stir in the chocolate chips and toffee bits.
  • Step 2
Add the cream and stir gently. Knead a few times till dough comes together. It will be crumbly at first, but it will come together.
  • Step 3
Pat into a 1″ thick circle. Cut in wedges and place on a Silpat lined cookie sheet about 1″ apart.
  • Step 4
Brush tops with cream or milk. Sprinkle with sugar if desired. Bake at 400° for about 15-18 minutes or till light golden brown. When cool drizzle with the chocolate if desired.
