The French are masters of butter! Here is a tasty blend of herbs you can garnish a grilled steak or to smear on French bread.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened - use the best you can find!
  • 1 tablespoon dry white wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced or grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, minced (use 1/8 tsp if dried)
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon shallots, very finely minced
  • 1 pinch finely ground sea salt, or to taste

How To Make french herbed butter

  • Step 1
    Beat softened butter in small bowl. Add rest of ingredients and beat until well blended.
  • Step 2
    If using on steak or grilled meat: Place on waxed paper and make a tube-shaped roll about diameter of a quarter - 2 cm or so. Chill. Slice when ready to serve.
  • Step 3
    If using as a spread on bread: Place in small dish and use at room temperature.
