This was my mom's recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 pounds pot roast
  • 2 packages dry onion soup mix
  • - worcestershire sauce
  • - potatoes, peeled, cut
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled, sliced
  • - onions.cut
  • to taste - salt and pepper

How To Make pot roast

  • Step 1
    Brown the roast in vegetable oil, both sides in electric skillet on low.
  • Step 2
    Add onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce and water, turn up to 250.
  • Step 3
    Continue to add water so pan is not dry for 2 hours or so.
  • Step 4
    Add vegetables when there is about an hour cooking time left. Note: 3 to 4 lbs. = 2 1/2 to 3 hours total cooking time
