This recipe was Grandma Lillie's and I actually found the original recipe in her recipe files. She had clipped it out of a newspaper dated 1934(she had it written on the recipe)with the note that this was Dee's favorite cookie(my Mom). I have made these for classroom parties as gingerbread men and decorated them, it was a labor of love. That was also when parent's could bring home made goodies to school! This is Brenda's favorite cookie!

There are two ways you can use this dough. 1: Cover and chill the dough. Divide the dough into 4 portions or more. Roll out each portion on a floured area to about 1/8" inch thick or more with a rolling pin. Use cookie cutters to make cookies.

Or 2: Using a cookie scoop, place the cookies on a parchment lined cookie sheet about 3" apart. Using a glass with a flat bottom, dip the glass in a bowl of sugar, press the glass on the cookie to flatten it to about 1/8" or so. Do this for all the cookies.

Bake the cookies at 350 for about 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool. Frost each cookie with a teaspoon of Buttercream Frosting and decorate with festive sprinkles.
