I really enjoy lavender and like to use it many ways. This loaf is made with either fresh lavender or dried. Both are delicious.

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lavender, finely chopped (or 2 tbsp. dried)
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • Step 1
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  • Step 4
    Pour into the prepared pan.
  • Step 5
Bake for 45-50 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Step 6
To prepare glaze: Combine powdered sugar and remaining ingredients. Spread over hot loaf. Cool in pan 20 minutes on a wire rack; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
