You don't need to thin the sour cream (use a little milk or 1/2&1/2) but it spreads nicer if you do.

Ingredients For parmesan baked potato halves

  • 6
smaller idaho potatoes, scrubbed and cut in half
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • parmesan cheese to taste
  • garlic powder to taste
  • any other seasonings you wish (to personal preference)
  • lightly thinned sour cream optional

How To Make parmesan baked potato halves

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2
Melt butter and pour into a 9x13 inch pan and spread evenly across the bottom. Generously sprinkle parmesan cheese, garlic powder and lightly sprinkle any other seasonings all over the butter. Place potato halves face down on the butter and seasonings.
  • 3
Place in preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • 4
Cool for at least a FULL 5 minutes before removing from the pan, otherwise the parmesan crust won't stick to the potato.
  • 5
Serve on a plate with a side of thinned sour cream for topping if desired.
