Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 box rice a roni spanish rice mix
  • 15 ounces tomatoes, canned and diced (for the spanish rice mix)
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup mozzarella or chedder cheese, shredded

How To Make stuffed bell pepers

  • Step 1
    Remove tops and seeds from peppers; parboil peppers for 5 minutes and drain.
  • Step 2
    Place peppers in a baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Combine ground beef and onion and cook together until done. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 4
    Prepare Rice-A-Roni according to package directions.
  • Step 5
    When rice is done, combine it with the beef and onion
  • Step 6
    Fill peppers with rice mixture.
  • Step 7
    Mix the 1 teaspoons sugar with the tomato sauce and pour this AROUND the peppers (not over).
  • Step 8
    Cover the baking dish.
  • Step 9
    Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes and then uncover and top with the shredded cheese.
  • Step 10
    Bake uncovered for about 5 minutes more to melt cheese.
  • Step 11
    Serve with the tomato sauce.
