Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped (or pecans)
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

How To Make honey bars

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Step 2
In a large bowl, stir the sugar, flour, baking soda, and cinnamon until evenly mixed.
  • Step 3
Add the egg, oil, honey and nuts. Stir until mixture is smooth. Spoon into an ungreased 9x13 baking pan.
  • Step 4
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean - about 20 minutes.
  • Step 5
Make the glaze: In a small bowl, stir together the powdered sugar, vanilla, water and mayo until mixture is smooth and creamy. Spread onto the honey bars while they are still warm.
  • Step 6
Store bars in a sealed container. Will stay fresh for 3-4 days.
