This is an old school Amish recipe. You don't need an electric mixture to make these tasty bars.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped (or pecans)
- GLAZE:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
How To Make honey bars

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 F

Step 2In a large bowl, stir the sugar, flour, baking soda, and cinnamon until evenly mixed.

Step 3Add the egg, oil, honey and nuts. Stir until mixture is smooth. Spoon into an ungreased 9x13 baking pan.

Step 4Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean - about 20 minutes.

Step 5Make the glaze: In a small bowl, stir together the powdered sugar, vanilla, water and mayo until mixture is smooth and creamy. Spread onto the honey bars while they are still warm.

Step 6Store bars in a sealed container. Will stay fresh for 3-4 days.
