gingerbread cake
This is a very old recipe. My Mom made this quite often for Sunday meals and my Grandma before her. We always had fresh cream because we had a dairy when we were growing up-it was so good!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup boiling water
How To Make gingerbread cake

Step 1Mix together the sugar, flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon in a bowl. Add molasses, softened butter and eggs, mix well. Add boiling water and continue mixing.

Step 2Bake in a 8" x 8" pan at 350 for 30 minutes or a loaf pan for 45 minutes. Serve warm with fresh whipped cream on top.
