  Rinse and cut strawberries in slices, add the sugar and stir, cover and let sit for at least an hour (the more you let them sit the more juice you will have). stirring occasionally.

  Cut or tear the angel food cake into bite size pieces.

  In a nice clear bowl or container, layer the cake, strawberries, cool whip, make 2 layers. Chill until ready to serve. You can also put fresh strawberries on top to put a finishing touch to this dish.
