Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups sugar; 1 cup shortening; 6 eggs; 1 tablespoon vanilla extract; 3 cups all-purpose flour; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1/4 teaspoon baking soda; 1 cup buttermilk; Chocolate Frosting; stick or 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened; cups powdered sugar; teaspoon vanilla extract; to 6 tablespoons milk; 2 cup cocoa ( I use Nestles 100% pure cocoa); Mix all ingredients with mixer until spreading consistency. Spread on cake.
