This is my Mom's recipe. She always made divinity for Christmas.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 dash salt
- 2 large egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- - chopped nuts
- OTHER DIVINITY IDEAS
- - peppermint extract
- - crushed peppermint candies
How To Make divinity

Step 1Stir sugar, water, corn syrup and salt in a 2 qt pan. Bring to a boil and cook to 240 with a candy thermometer.

Step 2While mixture is cooking, beat the egg whites in a mixing bowl until stiff. While mixing add the corn syrup, beating constantly until it holds its shape. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop on greased cookie sheet by Tablespoon or use a cookie scoop.

Step 3You can also use the peppermint flavoring and sprinkle divinity with crushed peppermint candies. Or color the divinity red and green.
