1 onion, finely chopped

1 lb. fresh tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped (OR 1 (28-ounce) can tomatoes, drained and chopped)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)
•
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano (or 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano)
