This has become a family favorite in the past several years. I came up with this recipe one year after eating a chocolate pie somewhere and thought that is was lacking something( besides just making pudding and throwing it in a pie shell) So, this is how I do it.

chocolate cook n serve pudding
milk
1/2 c

semi-sweet chocolate chips

baked pie shell
whipped cream

How To Make chocolate pie

Prepare pie shell (make one yourself or purchase one) by docking the pie shell with a fork or docking wheel. Bake according to directions(I also use pie weights, in aluminum foil, to weigh down the pie shell)

Prepare and cook the pudding according to the directions on the package, I usually use a large bowl and cook it in the microwave about 6-9 minutes, stirring occasionally (you can also make it from scratch-recipe is in this cook book). Add the chocolate chips and stir until melted. Pour into pie shell, cover with plastic wrap immediately and cool. Chill pie in refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve with whipped cream.
