This is my Mom's recipe for pie crust. I have used this for as long as I remember. Note: this recipe only makes one single pie crust.

Ingredients For pie crust

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 dash
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    crisco
  • water

How To Make pie crust

  • 1
    In a bowl, measure the flour and salt, add the Crisco and cut it in using a fork or a pastry cutter until it looks like little peas. Cover and chill completely ( at least an hour)

    Add enough water to make the dough stick together (Tbls at a time)

    Roll out with a rolling pin on a floured surface to at least a 10" circle. Place in pie shell. Crimp edges.

    To bake the pie crust:dock the crust with a fork. If you have pie weights, place them in aluminum foil on top of the crust and bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes. Take pie weights out and bake an additional 5 minutes.
