Makes 1-8" pie. My mother would bake this as requested by my dad for his birthday every February 13th!

Ingredients For cherry pie

  • FILLING
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    cherry juice
  • 2 c
    cherries, canned, drained
  • butter, to dot with
  • CRUST
  • 1 top & 1 bottom

How To Make cherry pie

  • 1
    Blend cornstarch, sugar and salt Add cherry juice Cook until thick and clear, stirring constantly Add canned cherries
  • 2
    Turn into pastry lined 8" pan Dot with butter Place top crust over filling, seal and flute
  • 3
    Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, then at 375 for 25-35 minutes
