Ingredients
- 8 medium potatoes
- 5 slices bacon
- 1 1/2 cups onion, diced
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make german potato salad
-
Step 1Peel potatoes, slice fairly thick (about 1/4"), sprinkle a little salt on them-cook until tender, drain and hold.
-
Step 2Cut up bacon into small pieces(I usually use a kitchen shears). Fry bacon and onion together until bacon is brown and crisp. Add sugar to bacon and stir over low heat until dissolved, add vinegar, stir. Make a slurry with the flour and water. Add to pan, cook and stir for about 5 minutes, add salt.
-
Step 3In a bowl, add the potatoes and bacon mixture, lightly toss. Serve warm.
