apple butter
I have not ever written down an apple butter recipe, so here goes. Try this before you heat this for sealing. Add more cinnamon or any other spices you might want to try.

Ingredients
- 1 bag apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
How To Make apple butter
-
Step 1Cut, peel, and core apples. Place in a crock pot. You should have about 3/4 of a large crock pot full. If not, peel more. Use a mixture of apples, granny smith, golden delicious, or any of your favorites.
-
Step 2Add sugars, cloves, cinnamon and cinnamon stick. Cover and cook over night on low. In the morning, take out the cinnamon sticks. Mash the apples with potato masher or put in food processor.
-
Step 3Add vanilla, stir well and cook until heated through. Pour into jars and seal. There are 2 ways you can seal the jars. 1. Invert the jars for about 20 minutes. Turn them back over and they should seal in about 10-15 minutes. (If they do not seal, go to the next step. 2. To process:place jars in a dutch oven (large pan) cover the jars with water and bring to a boil. Turn down heat, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Take out jars and let them cool. You should hear a pop from the lid when sealing.
