This recipe was given to me by a very good friend. Not only a wonderful person but great cook. I lost my dear friend in 1984 to cancer. I have such great memories of her when I make these delish mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    canned button mushrooms drained
  • 1/2 c
    dry vermouth
  • 1 c
    corn oil
  • 1/2 c
    red wine vinegar
  • 1 clove
    garlic, pressed
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp
    basil
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard

How to Make Wilma's Pickled Mushrooms

Step-by-Step

  1. Drain mushrooms and put in a mason jar with a tight fitting lid. Combine remaining ingredients and beat well. Pour into jar over mushrooms and stir gently. Keeps in the refrigerator for up to two months. Drain well before serving.
