Ever since I can remember my mom made this soup. She was full lebanese and always made Arabic dishes. This soup is easy and tasty and gives me good memories of her and my childhood.

How to Make MEATBALL SOUP (AN ARABIC DISH)

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large pot saute 1 medium chopped onion in 1 stick of butter. Keep fire on low and stir occasionally so the onion doesn't burn. Cook until onion is translucent.
  2. Mix 1 lb. of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of dried mint leaves. Form meatballs about the size of a marble. Add all of the meatballs to the onion in the pan.
  3. Cook meatballs with onion and butter until meatballs are browned all over. Fill pot 3/4 of the way full with water. Bring to a boil and add 1 cup of rice. Simmer on low heat, stirring often until rice is cooked.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
