We go to a Lavender Festival every year in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This year I bought lavender plants for my front beds, and they grew very well, but have not flowered yet.
However, I bought a huge bag of dried lavender blossoms and discovered this way to use some of them.
Any black or green tea can be used, but I like the Darjeeling best.

  • 3 Tbsp
    looseleaf black or green tea (or 4 teabags)
  • 1 tsp
    dried lavender blossoms (or more to taste)
  • 1 qt
    boiling water
  • 1/2 c
    raw sugar (may use white granulated sugar if desired)
  • 2 c
  • 2 c
    ice cubes

How to Make Susan's Lavender Iced Tea


  1. Place tea and lavender blossoms into boiling water; stir and steep for 5-6 minutes.
  2. Bring sugar and 2 cups water to a boil, and stir until sugar dissolves completely. Add sugar syrup to tea.
  3. Strain tea into serving pitcher. Stir in ice cubes until melted. Serve in tall glasses over ice. May garnish with mint leaf or lavender sprig if desired.
