Simple Arabic Rice

This is a simple twist on rice. It can be eaten as is or top it with a Meat or Vegetable stew recipe that I have posted. I also ate this growing up with just plain yoghurt on top. Yummy!

  • 2 c
  • 1/4 c
    butter or olive oil
  • ·
    small handful broken vermicelli or broken thin spaghetti
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 3 3/4 c
    hot water or broth

How to Make Simple Arabic Rice


  1. Fry vermicelli in butter or olive oil until golden.
  2. Add rice, water & salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, then cover & simmer about 30 minutes or until tender & water is absorbed.
