I am not sure where this recipe came from, as I have had it for years! This cake is easy to make, and very tasty! If you like p-nut butter fudge, you will LOVE this icing! I hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    plain flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 stick
    margarine or butter
  • 1/2 c
    smooth peanut butter
  • 1 c
    water
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk

How to Make Texas Sheet Cake-P-nut Butter

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift into bowl the sugar,flour, soda, and salt. Set aside. Bring to a boil the butter, peanut butter and water. Pour over the flour mixture, mixing well. Beat together eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Add to flour mixture mixing well. Pour in a greased 18x12 cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15-18 minutes
  2. Frosting:
    1 stick butter
    1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
    6 Tablespoons buttermilk
    1 box powdered sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
  3. Bring 1st three ingredients to a boil until all is melted, then add powdered sugar (sifted) and add the vanilla mixing well. Pour over hot cake! Let cook completely after you pour on the frosting
