Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    powedered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    old fashioned rolled oats (quaker oatmeal, not instant)

How to Make Mexican Wedding Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl beat butter until creamy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar, then salt, vanilla, flour, and salt. When blended and smooth stir in oats. shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. you can also flatten by pressing with fingers. bake 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. while still warm roll in powdered sugar. cool on wire rack. makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies.
  2. * PRE-HEAT OVEN TO 350 degrees
